Retention

An hour is not a limitation. It is the design.

A converted document sits on the conversion service for sixty minutes and is then deleted. People read that as a restriction; it is closer to the opposite.

Convert somethingThen download inside the hour

The alternative is a service that keeps your converted documents indefinitely, which means a growing archive of other people's contracts, statements and medical letters sitting on a machine none of them control. Most breaches are of exactly that kind of pile.

Stated plainly

  • Keep your converted file afterwards — a server-side result is held for 60 minutes and then deleted

What it means in practice

Download when you convert

Not later in the day. The window is generous for one session and short for a plan to come back after lunch.

Re-running is cheap

If you miss the hour, convert again. You lose the time it takes, not the document — the original was always yours.

Only three tools are affected

The page tools never send anything, so there is nothing to expire. This applies to PDF to Word, PDF to Excel and Office to PDF.

Which ones stay local

  • Runs the page tools entirely in your browser: those files are never uploaded
